Listen to the music

Craving live music? Denton’s vibrant music scene is just a quick drive from Towering Oaks Haven. Voted the United States’ best music scene in 2008 by Paste Magazine, Denton’s lively music culture has something for everyone. Whether you’re a fan of polka, jazz, country, indie rock, or anything in-between, you’re sure to find what you’re looking for in one of Denton’s live music venues including: The Abbey Underground, Hailey’s Club, Dan’s Silverleaf, The Greenhouse (especially great for jazz!), and many more. If music festivals are your thing, make sure to check out Denton’s 4-day annual music festival, 35 Denton, which takes place every March!

Try your luck and party like it’s 1999!

In north Texas, Winstar Casino and Resort is a household name, but if you’re not from around here and haven’t heard, it is truly a world class destination for gaming, dining and perhaps most famously for the first tier bands and musicians who appear regularly.  So when you’re ready to step out and party take make the twenty minute trip to Winstar.  If you want to go in style, we’ll recommend a limo service.

Tour the wine country

North Texas is home to a burgeoning wine industry, and we have several excellent boutique wineries within an easy back road country drive. For starters, may we suggest the following:

A bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work

We have one of Texas’ best bass fishing lakes almost on our doorstep.  Lake Ray Roberts has a surface fishing area of almost 26,000 to challenge both serious bass pros and those of among us who just want to leisurely wet a hook from time to time. If you like, we can recommend some excellents guides.

If you’re more enarmored with the idea of fishing than the actual catching, try your luck on our property pond.  We can’t guarantee a trophy, but then you are just a short stroll from our deck and wine bar…and who knows?

Lake Ray Roberts State Park

Take a hike—at Ray Roberts Lake State Park that is! Only a thirteen-minute drive from Towering Oaks, this Texas park is an adventurer’s paradise where guests can hike, bike, horseback ride, rollerblade, geocache, hunt, fish, swim, and relax until their heart’s content.
